Visit Paquitequete when you travel to Mozambique

Paquitequete, a large Kimwani settlement, was the original village which gave origin to Pemba Town. It is still a colourful neighbourhood, different from the center of town itself where, daily, dhows unload fish, macuti (palm leaves), and mangrove wooden poles for construction, coming from the islands.

Paquitequete is the traditional district of Pemba, a small fishing village with its narrow streets on the white sand. In the far west of the city and overlooking the great bay, the third largest in the world. Plan your visit to this town to be in the early hours of the morning we discovered their mosque, school and life around the beach that serves as the port and market.
